Your Google Ads data
What Shabba reads, what it keeps, what it can change and how to switch it off. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
The short version
- Your Google Ads data is used only to run your shots. Copies of shot results are deleted after 30 days.
- Shots read only when you press Run or when you schedule them, and only what that shot needs.
- Nothing in your account changes until you choose a change and confirm it. Every change is listed, and can be undone.
- I never sell your data, never use it for advertising and never use it to train AI.
- You can switch it all off from the app or from your Google account, at any time.
What you agree to when you connect
Google shows its own permission screen, which asks you to let Shabba "see, edit, create and delete" your Google Ads data. That sounds like a lot. Google offers apps only this one level of access, so even a shot that only reads has to ask for it.
What the shots read
When you run a shot, it reads the data that shot needs from the account you picked: campaigns, keywords, ads, products, settings and performance figures such as clicks, cost and conversions. It does that when you press Run, or at the times you set if you schedule the shot. Nothing else reads your account in the background.
What's kept, and where
- Shot results, 30 days: kept on my servers so you can open a recent run again and download exports, then deleted automatically. Your browser keeps its own copy for up to 30 days too; clear your browser's site data for app.shabba.io and it's gone.
- Link and page speed checks, 30 days: the URLs checked, with account names and spend, then deleted automatically.
- While your account is open: the list of Google Ads accounts you can see, the tokens Google gives me to run shots for you (encrypted), your change history (what each change was before and after, so you can undo it), your runs and schedules, and the items you mark in a shot. Never your Google password.
- Usage records: which shot ran, when and on which account, so I can bill correctly and fix problems.
What the shots can change
Every shot says on its card and page whether it can change your account. Right now these can: Negative keyword conflicts, Search term tamer, Broken link checker, Ad copy checker, Keyword suggestions, Ad comparison, Bids. The changes are small, specific fixes from the shot's results, such as adding or removing a negative keyword, adding a keyword, updating out-of-date ad text or a broken link, or pausing an ad.
- You check the exact items and confirm before anything is sent to Google.
- Every change is listed on your Changes page: what, which account, when, and whether Google accepted it.
- You can undo a change from there. If something has moved on in Google Ads since, the undo stops and tells you rather than overwriting it.
Where it runs
Shabba and the shots run on Amazon Web Services in the United States (Ohio). Payments go through Stripe, and I never see your full card number.
If you'd rather Google enforced it
Add a second email address to your Google Ads account with Read-only access, then connect Shabba with that login. Google itself then blocks any change, whatever an app asks for. The read-only shots keep working; the ones that make changes won't be able to.
Switching it off
- Disconnect Google Ads in the app under Settings, then Integrations. I delete the tokens and the account list and ask Google to revoke access. Your change history stays, so you can still see what changed.
- Or remove Shabba at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Delete your Shabba account from the app's settings, or by emailing charles@shabba.io. Everything above goes with it; copies of shot results expire within 30 days and backups within 7.
